Finally bagged my second partridge(ruffed grouse) of the season today. Was starting to wonder if I would bag another one this season.Birds have been about as scarce as dragons teeth.Have seen and heard only about a dozen birds all season.Today I saw two and heard another. Also bagged a rabbit (snowshoe hare).

Was out Saturday and bagged four rabbits but could not come across a partridge.

Thanks for the congrats, rich. It gets a bit discouraging going and seeing so few birds. At least there are some rabbits (snowshoe hare) to help keep your spirts up.

We had snow Friday night.Went out Saturday and scared two birds. One I just heard and the other jumped out of a group of spruce trees.Brought the the  28 gauge AYA up to get a snap shot off.It was cold and I had on heavy gloves.By the time I got my gloved finger in the trigger hole and the shotgun ready to go the bird was out of sight in the thick alders. :(

The AYA has double triggers and it is when the weather is cold and I have on heavy gloves that I wish I had a single trigger shotgun. The hole on the single trigger double shotguns are larger and easier to get heavy gloved fingers in the right position for firing. :)

Other than use in cold wether I like the double triggers on double shotguns.
